QINGHAI EARTHQUAKE - HELP NOW!
GIVE IN CANADA | GIVE IN USA

While the 100,000 people in the area are mostly Tibetan and many make their living herding yaks and sheep and are accustomed to a sometimes nomadic lifestyle, the rural Yushu area is 12,000 feet in elevation with nighttime temperatures that drop below freezing. Church leaders have already indicated that blankets are going to be needed immediately for the thousands of people that have been displaced by the earthquake.
Many of those affected have had to flee their unstable or collapsed houses made of mud and wood to live outside amid the strong tremors and aftershocks from the main earthquake. The basics needs of food, tents, medical supplies, clothing, cooking materials are on the target list to acquire so the church can minister in the area.
Through generous support from donors just like you, WorldServe’s Chinese church partners mobilized 1,500 “volunteers” trained in sharing the gospel and church planting to respond to the Sichuan Earthquake in May 2008. Over 200 of those church planters remain in the region today continuing to build on the relationships they built while serving the earthquake victims—relationships that progressed into sharing the Gospel and establishing churches. Once again we have the opportunity to support our brothers and sisters, this time in Qinghai, as they travel in to share comfort, encouragement and help to those affected by the earthquake. We hope you will join us in standing with our Chinese partners.
